Response Generation in Collaborative Negotiation

چکیده
In collaborative planning activities, since the agents are autonomous and heterogeneous, it is inevitable that conflicts arise in their beliefs during the planning process. In cases where such conflicts are relevant to the task at hand, the agents should engage in collaborative negotiation as an attempt to square away the discrepancies in their beliefs. This paper presents a computational strategy for detecting conflicts regarding proposed beliefs and for engaging in collaborative negotiation to resolve the conflicts that warrant resolution. Our model is capable of selecting the most effective aspect to address in its pursuit of conflict resolution in cases where multiple conflicts arise, and of selecting appropriate evidence to justify the need for such modification. Furthermore, by capturing the negotiation process in a recursive ProposeEvaluate-Modify cycle of actions, our model can successfully handle embedded negotia-

Collaborative Response Generation in Planning Dialogues
In collaborative planning dialogues, the agents have different beliefs about the domain and about each other; thus, it is inevitable that conflicts arise during the planning process. In this paper, we present a plan-based model for response generation during collaborative planning, based on a recursive Propose-Evaluate-Modify framework for modeling collaboration. We focus on identifying strateg...
متن کاملA Plan-Based Model for Response Generation in Collaborative Task-Oriented Dialogues
This paper presents a plan-based architecture for response generation in collaborative consultation dialogues, with emphasis on cases in which the system (consultant) and user (executing agent) disagree. Our work contributes to an overall system for collaborative problem-solving by providing a plan-based framework that captures the Propose-EvaluateModify cycle of collaboration, and by allowing ...
متن کاملCollaborative Interagent Communication: Architectural Requirements
We have been investigating collaborative expert-consultation dialogues in which two participants (the executing agent and the consultant) work together to construct a plan for achieving the executing agent’s domain goal. Our analysis of naturally occurring dialogue and our search for an architecture for response generation in collaborative situations have led us to identify a number of features...
متن کاملTwo Collaborative Feedback Models in EFL Writing Instruction: Do They Make a Difference?
Research in L1 writing has found numerous benefits of employing collaborative learning in the classroom. The research findings on group work provide clear evidence that engaging learners in group activities increases opportunities for students to engage in the negotiation of meaning, which further leads to better acquisition. The present study, implementing two different collaborative feedback ...
متن کاملA fuzzy e-negotiation support system for inter-firm collaborative product development
Significant advances in manufacturing technology and the rapid intensification of the Internet and electronic commerce diffusion have given rise to competitive differentiation and rapid adaptability to competitive change. New product development is a complex and collaborative process that requires negotiation and joint decisionmaking. We propose a fuzzy electronic negotiation (e-negotiation) su...
